We walk the home together
On the free consult we tour every room with you and any family members you'd like to include. We listen first. By the end we have a sense of the scale, the rooms that need the most time, and the items that need extra care.
A lifetime's worth of things does not need to be sorted in a weekend. We sit with you, room by room, and turn an overwhelming pile into a clear plan for what stays, what goes, and where everything is heading.
Downsizing at Sol starts with what's coming with you, not what's leaving. We focus first on the home you're moving into and the things that are moving with you. From there, donations, items for family, recycling, and disposal come into focus, one room at a time.
We sit with the floor plan from the new residence and talk through the rooms, the furniture, and the everyday objects that make a place feel like yours. We plan what comes with you and give you the time to figure out the rest.
Once we know what's coming, the rest of the home gets sorted at your pace. Items for family, donations, things worth selling, recycling. Decisions land when they're ready to land.
Donation pickups get arranged. Items earmarked for family get delivered within Winnipeg. Recycling and disposal are handled responsibly, so nothing is rushed to the curb.
We arrive with the plan from your consultation in hand. Before anything moves, we walk the home with you one more time so we are all on the same page. Then we get to work, sorting and packing carefully, room by room. We photograph each space as it was so the new home can match it. In the kitchen, we take pictures of where things live in the cupboards, so unpacking puts everything back where you had it. You stay in charge the whole way. If anything changes, you let us know. We adjust.
By the time the move is done, most of the home has already found a thoughtful next step. Whatever is left over is where our decluttering and disposal work picks up the thread.
We work with each client to help them with whatever they need. Some families book the full sequence, others bring us in for one piece. Either way, the process below is what you can expect.
On the free consult we tour every room with you and any family members you'd like to include. We listen first. By the end we have a sense of the scale, the rooms that need the most time, and the items that need extra care.
We map out a written plan room by room with a realistic timeline. You see what we're tackling each session, who needs to be there, and how long it should take. No surprises.
We work alongside you at the pace you set. Items get sorted into keep, gift, donate, sell, or recycle. Anything earmarked for a family member is logged so it can be delivered or set aside.
At the end of each session you get an updated tally: what is staying, what is going where, and what is left to decide. The family stays in the loop without anyone having to chase us for an update.
